Human Resources Assistant

The role is office based, working from our HQ in Harrow, London, UK.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a progressive international software house (circa 100 employees worldwide) with a superb scope for rapid career progression where the right candidate can gain HR experience in a fast-paced work environment by supporting and improving all HR functions. 

The job role involves performing a variety of personnel-related administrative tasks, supporting the HR Manager in duties like posting job ads, updating the HR database and processing employee requests. 

We are looking for a detail-oriented individual with the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and wants to grow within the company and take on more responsibility. This person needs to be able to demonstrate initiative, they must be willing to take on any challenge and work hard.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the HR Manager with the process of recruitment such as drafting job specs, posting job ads on LinkedIn and other relevant platforms to hire appropriate candidates and processing incoming applications.
  • Assisting the HR Manager with vetting CVs and forwarding them to the relevant departmental managers and arranging interviews.
  • Informing existing staff of available positions and opportunities.
  • Occasionally assisting the HR Manager with preparing offer documents and assist with onboarding new staff.
  • Compiling, maintaining and updating HR databases with employee records, holiday and sickness leave.
  • Occasionally assisting the HR Manager with payroll preparation by providing relevant data, like absences and leave.
  • Occasionally helping with the preparation of paperwork for HR policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining employee records (both soft and hard copies).
  • You will be required to work in partnership with the HR Manager and other departments to improve communication and resolve employee issues in the workplace.
  • Keeping employee files strictly confidential.
  • Continuously learning the latest HR best practices to improve workplace efficiency.

 

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Basic knowledge of a Human Resource department and its workings (desirable but not essential).
  • Strong communication, organisation and analytical skills and the ability to work with people at all levels within the organisation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with any other European languages would be advantageous but not essential.
  • The ability to handle challenges and over-coming them using conflict management skills.
  • Time management and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in IT, including MS Office.
  • Attention to detail, and a good capacity to follow directions.
  • Excellence in both teamwork and individual tasks.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving capabilities.

 

Preferred Education & Qualifications:

  • Higher Education or University Graduate.
  • Have at least one to two years’ experience of working within administration. 
  • Certification or diploma in fields such as Professional in Human Resources (desirable but not essential).
