21st Dec 2017

We are happy to announce that it is now possible to perform Live Actions on Deep Freeze Mac computers.

Since the introduction of Deep Freeze Mac the process of Freezing or Thawing a Mac could be quite time consuming and was only possible via the policy interface or locally on the computer. We are therefore delighted that it is now possible to perform live actions on Deep Freeze Mac computers!

Supported actions from Deep Freeze on Demand include:

Reboot Frozen

Reboot Thawed

•Restart

•Shutdown

•Move to Group

•Assign Policy

•Tag

•Delete Computer

Supported actions from Computers page (as shown above) include:

•Restart

•Shutdown

•Move to Group

•Assign Policy

•Tag

•Delete Computer

Upgrade Service

Deep Freeze Administrator Mobile App is able to perform all these actions as well.

Please Note: For Live Actions to take effect you must change the heartbeat setting to "enable Live Actions" and re-apply the policy. Deep Freeze Mac does not yet support installation on APFS formatted volumes. macOS High Sierra requires user consent in order to load kernel extensions such as Deep Freeze.

This version also supports macOS High Sierra 10.13.
